My Favorite Place

Whenever I was 12 years old, I went on vacation to India with my mum and dad. Out of all the places, my favorite place had to be the Ajanta and Ellora Cave System which is located in the district of Maharashtra, India. The Ajanta Caves contain 30 separate Buddhist monuments and has a whole division of tunnels and rooms. Ever since 1983, the Ajanta Caves became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although it is a smaller cave system, the beauty of it is just remarkable.

Also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ellora Caves is a cave system of more than 100 caves. However, only 34 of them are open to the public. 12 caves contain Buddhist art/monuments, 17 caves stem from the Hindu people, and 5 caves come from the Jain religion. This is considered to be one of the largest rock-cut temple monasteries cave system in the world. If you love nature and historic places, these cave systems are the places to go.
