Reading Notes: Tiny Tales from the Mahabharata, Section C

Notes:

I really enjoyed the tiny tale that told the story of the Pandavas looking for water. It was really interesting that Nakula was the one who found the lake first. I thought it was typical that all the mighty brothers were the ones who started disappearing one by one. As I was reading, I realized that none of the brothers wanted to follow any rules. Thus, leading them to their death as they were supposed to answer questions before drinking any water. Yudhishthira was the only Pandava with any common sense because he chose to listen to the voice which he later found out to be his father, Yama. I could retell the story and focus on the Pandavas that died. Instead of them dying, they are trapped in their subconscious living through their worst fear. This would be an interesting storyline to focus on because everyone has a fear that they are keeping to themselves.

Another tale that interested me was the story of which side Balarama would join in the war. Balarama was smart in his choice of rejecting to pick a side of the war. He said, "Only fools reject the possibility of peace." With that being said, I could give him the powers of being able to see the future and offer guidance to both sides of the war. I could pull a Breaking Dawn- Part 2 moment, where he places a hand on the leader of each side and show him the outcome of the war. Maybe with them seeing what happens, it leads them down the path of peace, as it is meaningless to kill billions of people in a war that could have easily been prevented in the first place.

This has been a good read and cannot wait for the last section of the Tiny Tales from the Mahabharata.
